Biography
Vincent Chan is a recent graduate, a web designer and an entrepreneur, who is hugely influenced by the book “Built to Last” by Jim Collins & Jerry I. Porras. Vincent began his career at Hong Kong Trade Development Council working as a web designer. After two years work experience and reading some inspirational business books, he realized that working for others is not his goal. During free time, he developed an interest in business, investment and entrepreneurship. When he was 20, he started to network with different entrepreneurs, real estate investors, and stock investors on the internet and learned from them.

In 2003, he left his home of Hong Kong to attend college in California, for most of the best companies are located in the United States. Since his goal is to build a global business in the future and he believes the knowledge he learned from school was not enough, he tried many ways to learn about business in this country. While he volunteered for the MIT Enterprise Forum at Stanford, he had a chance to meet CEOs and venture capitalists giving him a real eye-opener.

In 2004, Vincent and his friends won the 3rd place in the Wharton Africa Business Plan Competition, organized by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. In the same year, he co-found the Caliea International Entrepreneur Alliance, a database of entrepreneurs worldwide. Although this project was a failure, he learned a valuable lesson.

In 2007, Vincent has graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, majoring in Economics. He is currently working in the Global Transaction Services Client Management team at Citigroup.
